We are a very active group that chartered in 2005 and meets in Plainfield, IL. Our members come from various educational and professional backgrounds from high school graduates to PhD’s. From skilled tradesmen, to teachers, managers, firemen, engineers, business owners and parents. While we are all different, all of us have two things in common: we are dedicated to improving our communication and leadership skills, and we are dedicated to helping you improve yours. Oh, and we all like to laugh. Every member who joins our club comes from the same place – afraid to speak up and let themselves be heard. In a short time, you will gain the confidence to effectively express yourself in any situation.
At Confident Communicators, we are committed to learning and developing ourselves. Every meeting is structured and purposeful. Members can take on roles and lead certain parts of the meeting. Sometimes we have pot-luck dinners, outside events, off-site dinner meetings.

Cathy grew up in Joliet and attended St. Raymond, St. Francis Academy, and later Joliet Junior College. She was an online bill pay Supervisor at CheckFree for almost 10 years. Cathy was a Weight Watcher Leader/Coach for over 15 years. She has been working at Tootsie Roll as a National Account Coordinator since 2005.
Kashaun is a professional speaker, author, and coach who is devoted to inspiring and empowering individuals through her compelling speeches and transformative coaching programs. She draws on her life experiences, from corporate leadership to becoming an author, to showcase her commitment to continuous personal and professional growth while embodying authentic leadership principles. Kashaun holds an MBA and ACC for Professional Coaching, and she extends her expertise to empower others on their journey toward personal and professional fulfillment.
Christina is a dynamic leader in sales and training with a proven track record at Pfizer and Exact Sciences. Christina is the Founder and CEO Soul Trail Sister, a life coaching business empowering people through personal development and wellness, and The Cerve Foundation (nonprofit) which focuses on educating youth & families on financial literacy to avoid or eliminate student loans. She holds an MBA from the University of Phoenix and a BS in Education from the University of Wisconsin.
Ryan has been a member of Confident Communicators since 2009. He graduated with a Bachelor's Degree from North Central College in Communications in 2015. Ryan currently works at an Amazon fulfillment center in Romeoville. He is pursuing a career in communications and has vastly improved his communication skills since joining Toastmasters.
Mike is a Director of Loss Prevention at Ulta Beauty. Prior to working at Ulta Beauty, Mike previously held progressive retail LP leadership roles at Amazon, Ascena Retail Group, and Wickes. Mike holds a master's degree in business administration from Aurora University and is a certified forensic interviewer (CFI) and Loss Prevention Certified (LPC) via the LP Foundation.
Dale has a Masters Degree in Telecommunications from DePaul University. Over the past 35 years, he has been an Information Technology consultant for both public and private clients. Dale frequents industry conferences and trades shows where he has been a presenter many times to large audiences and workgroups. He's married with three young adult daughters.
Ken has been a member of Toastmasters for over 15 years and is the club president for the 2023-2024 club year. He is a big proponent of ongoing personal development and believes that Toastmasters is the best value for self-development to become a better communicator and better leader. Ken is also currently the president of the Plainfield Rotary Club for 2023-2025. Ken left the corporate grind in Project Management with an Engineering & Construction corporation in October 2023 and is now living his dream of being a full-time equity investor.
